Annual Duck Creek Weekend

We always head to Duck Creek 4th of July weekend with Dave's family.  This year was extra special and we were able to attend Brett & Aly's sealing in the St. George temple on Friday before we headed up to the cabin.  We decided to spend Thursday night in St. George and meet up with Dave's family on Friday at the temple instead of driving to Duck Creek & jumping in the car again to drive to St. George the next morning.
We had a great time in St. George. The kids loved staying in a hotel. We headed to the pool in the morning and Cole was pretty reluctant to get in. He is used to our 95 degree water and so even the heated pool wasn't warm enough for him. He finally got into the hot tub and from there decided to try out the pool!
Our closest Cafe Rio is about an hour away...so dinner was our first stop when we made it to St. George!!

I have a love/hate relationship with Cole's fireman boots!  He is pretty cute in them, especially with the backpack & pjs!
After the pool we stopped by to visit my grandparents. We had a great time visiting with them. Cole & Addie especially loved their candy cabinet and were sent home with 3 big bags of candy! And grandpa Bonham was excited to let them try out his massage chair!

We then headed to a splash pad area to meet up with Sallie (one of my roommates from college) and her kids.  Addie & Cole loved playing in the water and climbing all over the rocks.  I hadn't seen Sallie since I was pregnant with Cole so it was great to catch up and see her 3 cute boys.

Then it was time to head to the temple.  The sealing was great and Aspen was so cute during the sealing.  She kept looking around and smiling...I know she knew what was going on!  I am so thankful that families can be forever :)

After the sealing we headed up to the cabin and cooler temperatures!  We had such a fun weekend...spending time with family, 4 wheeling, relaxing, the pancake breakfast, 4th of July parade and enjoying the rain.  We even slept in a tent!  After our fun ward campout we promised the kids we could sleep in a tent again soon, and with a packed cabin, this weekend seemed like the perfect time.  I can easily handle a few nights in a tent when bathrooms, running water & a kitchen are a few feet away :)  We were sad to see the weekend come to an end.
