St. Johns

We had a Hall family reunion (Dave's side) in St. Johns, AZ so we headed back to AZ with Dave's family and met up with Dave in St. Johns. It is SO nice to be back together as a family.

We had a great time in St. Johns. Dave's mom grew up there and his Grandpa Hall still lives there. Most of the cousins and aunts and uncles were able to make it and we had a fun time celebrating Pioneer Day.

There is basically one restaurant in St. Johns, El Camino and it is tradition to eat there every time we visit. They keep hot sauce in ketchup bottles on the tables. Cole got a hold of one and started chugging it down. I'm telling you, this kid is amazing! With Addie it was always fun to have her try things we knew we'd get a good reaction with, but with Cole he'll try anything without blinking an eye. (Notice everyone cheering him on in the background! It was quite a feat he performed!)

The Rodeo - on Friday they had all of the kid events. We had some cousins participate and just had a good time hanging out with everyone. Addie & Cole even got to ride ponies. Preston won the greased pig event & got to take home the pig! And Christian and Nate each won roosters! On Saturday the adult events were held. Jake, Dave's cousin, decided to try out bull riding. We were all relieved that he didn't get hurt and I was very thankful that Dave didn't have the same bright idea :)

Hanging out at Grandpa Halls - it was fun to sit around and talk with the family and the kids loved seeing the horses and playing outside.

The Parade - we entered a float in the Pioneer Day parade and won "best family float". It was coke themed in honor of Grandpa Hall and we passed out cold Cokes to all of the spectators along the route.

We had a great time in St. Johns celebrating the 24th of July and look forward to the next time we all get together.
